This study aims to explore how middle-aged women perceive the utilization of generative AI after participating in an educational program designed to support career reentry. The educational program integrated theoretical concepts with practical activities to build both conceptual understanding and hands-on skills. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining both post-session surveys with open-ended responses and reflection memos. Descriptive statistics were used for quantitative data, and thematic analysis for qualitative data from middle-aged women in a career development program in South Korea. Findings indicate that participants generally perceived generative AI positively, with high levels of satisfaction and perceived helpfulness, though trust varied depending on the context and type of information provided. Participants (1) recognized the necessity and usefulness of generative AI, (2) identified practical, hands-on activities as the most helpful aspects of the program, and (3) reported challenges such as the need for continuous skill development and concerns about ethical use. Additionally, participants emphasized the importance of critical thinking and prompt quality in evaluating AI-generated outputs. These findings offer insights for designing inclusive and practical educational programs that integrate generative AI to support the career transitions of middle-aged women in an AI-driven society.
